We dropped by this location wanting to ask a question about our rental because various engine/error lights light up and wanted to seek guidance. The booth was empty for the 14mins I was there. The Europcar guy next door said the budget person was here just 5 min ago but duno where he went.e end up leaving without seeing anyone I get that tgis airport is local and has a lot less traffic and may go by appointment only.. and there was a sign with a number to call.. but I'd imagine a rental car company would mostly deal with tourist who doesn't necessarily have a phone number to call (data only sim/esim are mainstream nowadays) I don't know whats the solution here . Maybe they need a chat/sms/email way for communication, or maybe they just need to put up a sign saying "be back after x mins" or I don't know make a note in the Google map entry and say appointment only so people don't just blindly wait at an empty booth when Google map says they are open

Budget will routinely add damage charges to your invoice with no evidence provided. Avoid at all costs.

Beware of Unexpected Charges! Scam! Unfortunately, renting a car from Avis Akureyri left a negative impression. We had to deal with several problems. First, we had a flat tyre and had to change the car. The spare tyre in the replacement car was a summer tyre instead of a winter tyre! The mechanic who changed the tyre confirmed that it is unacceptable and dangerous to drive with summer tyres in December in Iceland. Secondly, when we returned the car, we were charged for an extra day, even though we returned it on time. Booking reference 396590110. We are currently trying to resolve this issue with the company. When we returned the car, the office was closed, and we were simply told to leave the keys in the return box. As a result of having to change cars and deal with the spare tyre issue, we lost half a day of our vacation. I advise future Avis Akureyri customers to be more careful when receiving a car, check the condition of the spare tyre, and carefully monitor charges to their account
