It was the weirdest and somehow worst experience with car pick up. We made an error in the booking and sadly booked an EV car and never have we used a EV prior. I completely understand if Avis can’t adjust the reservation or change the car due to availability but when I requested the agent to kindly show Us how to charge and or introduce us to the process he refused. He stated it’s like charging a Phone. News flash: nothing like charging a phone. We had to deal with poor EV infrastructure on our trip since we didn’t book hotel with EV charging on site. The agent told us about “enel” but it was the worst app there was we ended up finding a better app. Logistically the first and second day was a total nightmare for us and could’ve been avoided had the rental company been more helpful by just walking us through how the charging works and explaining it us. The agent didn’t bother to leave his desk once. All in all, the lack of help upon car pick up was unacceptable. Don’t rent from here.

AVOID AVIS Bolzano office at all costs!!. This was the worst rental experience I’ve ever had. We booked a gas car and instead were handed an electric vehicle we never asked for. (They gave our car away). When we asked how to even charge it, the two young employees shrugged and said, “I don’t know, I don’t have an electric car.” That’s the level of “service” here, absolutely zero help. After multiple days of trying to charge this car we found out that the system for charging was down, and of course, nobody bothered to warn us. We were left stranded, wasting hours trying to figure things out on our own in a foreign language. It felt like these employees were taking advantage of the fact that we were tourists. To make it even worse, they straight-up lied to us. We were told they never received our message changing our pick up time, but Sunny Cars (the first company that we contacted) confirmed they did and sent to us proof. Dishonest and careless. The two “employees” working there acted more like untrained than professionals. Rude, dismissive, and completely unqualified. They should not be working in customer service at all. Also, when we left our wrong car back. We asked if the two employees could graciously call a taxi for us and another couple to the train station. They simply said “no” that they won’t do it. Because of this the other couple missed their train. Fortunately we anticipated the lack of support from AVIS and dropped our car off with extra time to get to the train station. Again… AVIS leaving their customers stranded. This office is a disgrace to the Avis name. Management needs to step in immediately and frankly things need to change quickly. Customers deserve better than to be lied to, abandoned, and disrespected.Now reading all these BAD reviews we hope they don’t try to keep our $200 euros deposit. Won’t be using AVIS again.

I did not pay close attention when I picked up the car and when I returned they pointed a chip on the top corner of the windshield that was completely hidden. not only did they charge the repair fee, they charged the €102 ideal fee as well as €42 processing fee. how long it take to repair a chipped windshield.

Terrible. Car was quite dirty and damaged and we got it with half a tank of fuel. Showed all this to the agent and they apparently noted it all. Car navigation system did not work, staff didn’t care just suggested we connect apple car play and use mobile data. Returned the car with half a tank of fuel, same as we got it and again the staff apparently noted it. Then we get invoiced for refueling and have no way to dispute the charge. Staff don’t care, car was rubbish, don’t use this company

They will cheat you by deliver car with the 3/4 fuel and charge you for fuel when you return even the fuel level is higher than original. My case is the long black hair guy staff. Beside, I booked for mercedes benz but recive a Cupra with super dirty condition and bird poop. The staff is not even show me the car. I try to find car for 15-20 minutes in the garage. Both booking.com staff and AVIS try to avoid my dispute. I should believe my friend to book directly with the other car rental. This is the worst car rental experience in my entire life.
